Kekri,
hands on.

Five activities for ages 9 to 12, built on real sources and real archive photographs. Play on the projector together, or on tablets in pairs.

01Kekri Quest

One night, five customs.

Bring in the harvest before the frost, knock on the doors, light the way for the ancestors, read the tin and keep the fire burning. Each stop ends with a real fact and its source.

Record, or myth?

Historians check claims against sources. Decide for each one, then see what the sources say.

“Finns carved turnip lanterns at Kekri.”

Myth. Turnips were eaten at Kekri, but carving turnip lanterns was a British custom, not a Finnish one.

  3. 3 / 8

“A sauna was heated for the dead.”

  5. 5 / 8
